About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Performance Analyst to join our team at the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO). As a key member of our Performance Audit Services Group (PASG), you will play a critical role in providing Parliament with assurance about the quality of public resource management and assisting the public sector by identifying and promoting better administrative and management practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake research, evidence collection, data analysis, and report writing to form findings and recommendations
  • Promote teamwork and a positive and productive team culture
  • Help formulate audit work plans to achieve audit objectives and impact
  • Conduct extensive research across both open-source and entity-based information, as relevant to the context of the audit
  • Use data searching tools to identify audit evidence and sound judgement to assess its value
  • Prepare working papers, documentation, and reports to the required quality standard, written in a clear, concise, evidenced, and factual manner
  • Present findings and evidence in audit workshops with the Auditor-General and other audit executives
Requirements
  • Experience in gathering and analysing data
  • Good communication skills, particularly with regards to report writing and building internal relationships
  • The ability to prioritise work and contribute to meeting audit milestones
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • A positive and learning attitude
  • Attention to detail and critical reasoning skills
Desirable Qualifications

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or experience in audit or evaluation are highly desirable.

Eligibility

To be eligible for employment with the ANAO, applicants must be an Australian citizen. The preferred applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the baseline level with the ability to obtain and maintain NV1 security clearance.
