Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented and motivated Executive Chef to lead our kitchen team and oversee the preparation and presentation of our menu items. The successful candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement menus that showcase our culinary expertise and meet the needs of our customers.
  • Lead and manage a team of cooks and kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective food preparation and presentation.
  • Monitor and maintain high standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene.
  • Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager to plan and develop recipes and menus, considering factors such as seasonal availability of ingredients, customer preferences, and menu pricing.
  • Provide costings of new menu items and ensure that food costs are managed effectively.
  • Inspect equipment, work areas, and general supplies to ensure conformance to established health and safety standards.
  • Train and develop kitchen staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their duties effectively.
  • Monitor and enforce sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations.
  • Determine production schedules and staff requirements necessary to ensure timely delivery of services.
  • Assist in recruitment and induction of kitchen staff.
  • Discuss with the Restaurant Manager any equipment purchases and repairs required.
  • Meet with customers to discuss menus for special occasions such as weddings, parties, and banquets.
Requirements:
  • Relevant AQF Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • 3 years of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications.
  • Applicants with qualifications will need to demonstrate 2 years of relevant experience.
Salary and Benefits:

$74,000 - $76,000 (salary will be commensurate to qualifications and experience).
