Software Developer Opportunity

Babcock Australia & New Zealand seeks an experienced Software Developer to deliver critical Defence communications systems and other related projects.

About the Role

This role requires a highly skilled software developer who can contribute to designing, developing, integrating, and verifying software across all stages of the engineering lifecycle. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Designing, developing, integrating, and verifying software components, simulators, and tools required to support system development and testing.
  • Contributing to the full software development lifecycle, including requirement gathering, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure delivery of high-quality software solutions.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in Java development, preferably Java 17.
  • Understanding and experience of Object-Oriented Programming.
  • Familiarity with Agile Software Engineering best practices.
  • Understanding of three-tier web application software architecture and REST+JSON.

The successful candidate must be eligible to obtain an appropriate level of Commonwealth Personnel Security Clearance as defined in the AGSVA guidelines.
