We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to lead our Residential Care Team at Oaklands Park site.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for directing and delivering high-quality nursing care to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Supervision: Lead and supervise support provision for daily living in accordance with each resident's care/service plan.
- Social and Physical Engagement: Lead and promote social and physical engagement in all resident interactions.
- Risk Management: Assess resident's condition and functional ability, identify and manage risks, and ensure they are discussed with relevant staff/residents or representatives and included in their care and service planning.
- Medication Management: Ensure optimal use of medications, monitor for adverse effects, and administer in a timely and safe manner.
- Staff Development: Provide leadership, direction, support, mentoring, and coaching to Personal Carers, Enrolled Nurses, Hotel Service staff, Lifestyle, Maintenance, and Administration staff on each shift.
- Handover and Documentation: Ensure clear and succinct handover from shift to shift and relevant documentation in the 7-day handover sheet correlates with the progress notes, alert notification form, care plan suggested change forms, and risk management plans.
- Policies and Procedures: Ensure all staff read and comply with all policies, procedures, and work instructions relevant to them.
We are looking for individuals who will make a positive impact in the lives of our residents and clients.
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Qualifications: Bachelor of Nursing with current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Certifications: Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011) and Current CPR Certificate (HLTAID009).
- Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience working as a Registered Nurse in an Aged Care environment.
- Communication Skills: Sound communication skills with a level of English literacy that enables you to speak in a manner that older people can understand, as well as the ability to read written instructions and write clearly and concisely, particularly in progress notes.
- Time Management: Exceptional time management skills to manage your own workload to meet deadlines and support other staff.
- Problem-Solving: Outstanding problem-solving skills to balance supporting residents' desire for independence and self-determination against potential risks and duty of care.
- Dementia Care: High-level understanding of the requirements to support residents living with dementia, including those who display challenging behaviors.
- AN-ACC: Understanding of how to apply AN-ACC to ensure optimum levels of funding are achieved.
- Contemporary Clinical Knowledge: Excellent contemporary best practice clinical knowledge, including medicines used in aged care.
- Aged Care Standards: Excellent knowledge of the Aged Care Standards, particularly as they relate to accreditation.
