About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lawyer to join our Technology, Enterprise & Digital (TED) Legal team at Westpac. As a Senior Technology Lawyer, you will play a critical role in advising on a broad range of technology matters across the Westpac Group, including significant technology and telecommunications procurement and outsourcing arrangements, cyber security, data, privacy, AI, and emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reviewing, Drafting, and Leading Negotiations on technology contracts and transactions, ensuring that they align with the company's legal and risk strategy.
  • Collaborating with Internal and External Stakeholders to support the legal and risk strategy, including Westpac Group's compliance with laws and internal policies in a proactive manner.
  • Briefing Stakeholders on Legal Issues and status of negotiations, identifying matters for escalation, and providing expert advice on technology-related legal matters.
Requirements
  • 4+ Years' PQE with experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating complex technology or large services contracts, particularly on the customer side.
  • Experience Gained in a Large Corporate or Private Practice Environment with a strong understanding of technology contracting and outsourcing.
  • Solutions-Focused with Strong Stakeholder Management and Negotiation Skills to effectively manage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with Regulatory Requirements for Technology Contracting and Outsourcing and Australian privacy law and data security regulation (desirable).
