We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Preparation Assistant to join our dynamic team.
This casual position requires flexibility in your availability, with the successful candidate reporting directly to the Executive Sous Chef.
As a Food Preparation Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness in the kitchen facilities, adhering to government and company sanitation standards.
You will assist line cooks with food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables, washing fruit, defrosting meat, and preparing sauces and marinades.
Additionally, you will ensure all appliances and cooking equipment are properly used and maintained, removing rubbish and sweeping and mopping kitchen floors to maintain ongoing cleanliness and kitchen hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:- Cleaning Dishes: Hygienically clean crockery, cutlery, glassware, and other kitchen equipment using commercial dishwashers and by hand.
- Assist with Food Preparation: Assist line cooks by completing food preparation tasks.
- Maintain Kitchen: Ensure all appliances and cooking equipment are properly used and maintained.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks.
