Job Title: Physiotherapist - Rapid Assessment

The role of a physiotherapist is integral to the Allied Health Rapid Assessment, Intervention and Discharge – Emergency Department (RAID-ED) Team.

This position focuses on preventing hospital admissions from the Emergency Department (ED) and facilitating early discharges through timely allied health multidisciplinary intervention.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Providing physiotherapy services to patients in the ED as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Assessing and diagnosing patients' conditions, developing treatment plans to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and effective communication.
  • Educating patients and their families about self-management techniques and promoting healthy lifestyle habits.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy.
  • Clinical experience in Physiotherapy, particularly in the emergency department setting.
  • Extensive postgraduate clinical experience in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and demonstrated core competency skills in Cardiorespiratory, Orthopaedic, Gerontology, and Neurological Physiotherapy.
  • Excellent negotiation, decision-making, and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to lead quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes.
  • Capacity to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
