About The Role

Hansen Technologies is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our next generation utilities billing software division in Melbourne. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the solution design and delivery of products and services in a collaborative environment using Agile methods.

This role bridges the gap between stakeholders and the development team, interpreting business requirements into understandable development tasks to match a final software product with the expected business value.

About You

Proven experience as a Business Analyst delivering features for projects in an Agile environment is essential. You will have Australian Energy industry experience preferably within Retail Market or Regulatory compliance. You will also have:

  • practical experience with various business analysis frameworks, tools, and techniques, such as SWOT analysis and user story and stakeholder mapping.
  • outstanding verbal, documentation and presentation skills that drives collaboration and shared understanding.
  • experience communicating and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including corporate clients.
  • data-driven and delivery-focused approach in defining scope boundaries, identifying risks, and balancing solution options against timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Product Owner to maintain a backlog of business requirements and development stories.
  • Support agile teams by facilitating refinement and sprint planning meetings for a healthy 'ready' backlog.
  • Deliver detailed software requirements, including use cases, functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Translate business needs into user stories and acceptance criteria, aligning with user experience and business goals.
  • Provide quality analysis outputs such as process maps and Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs).
  • Assist with functional sizing, estimates, and quotes for Statements of Work (SOWs).
  • Help plan the implementation of system enhancements, upgrades, and go-to-market activities.
  • Document expertise in Hansen products and the global utilities industry, sharing knowledge across teams via Confluence.
