Job Opportunity: Urban Data Collector

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as an Urban Data Collector. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting and gathering data across various locations.

The primary objective is to walk prearranged geographical routes equipped with a sensor inside a backpack. The sensor scans and collects data of the geography and route you are following.

You will retrieve and transport the unit to assigned outdoor areas to walk/map. An average day, you will walk approximately 12-16 kilometres in an 8 hour period.

The main pack with sensor equipment weighs approximately 18kg and the support pack weighs approximately 8kgs.

Responsibilities:

  • Able to walk 8 hours/day and carry up to 18 kgs for extended periods of time
  • Must have capabilities to understand physical security protocols
  • Must be polite and courteous and be comfortable with public interactions
  • Follow security procedures to safeguard equipment
  • Able to read and understand instructions
  • Report issues on collection equipment

Qualifications:

  • Experience with iOS devices and ability to troubleshoot problems (iPhone, iPad, etc.)
  • BMIac use of Microsoft Office/365
  • Previous experience in mapping or other related fields a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Deadline and detail-oriented

This position requires strong physical stamina and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

This is a temporary full-time position that may require weekend work.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:

  • Key Skills: iOS device troubleshooting, Microsoft Office/365 proficiency, previous experience in mapping or related fields
  • Prioritization and Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and meet deadlines
  • Physical Requirements: Strong physical stamina to walk 12-16 km in 8 hours and carry up to 18 kg
