Construction Materials Laboratory Specialist

About the Role
Fulton Hogan is seeking an experienced Soil Technician to join our team and contribute to the establishment of our laboratory with soil testing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Laboratory Manager in achieving NATA ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation in soils;
- Undertake and assist with laboratory and field testing;
- Maintain and check testing and calibration equipment as required;
- Manual handling and use of computers;
- Prioritize laboratory testing in consultation with the Supervisor and customers;
- Adhere to the Quality and Management System and contribute to the continuous improvement;
- Follow workplace health and safety practices.
Requirements
- A minimum 3 years experience in construction materials testing (Experience with stabilised materials advantageous);
- Has demonstrated experience in laboratory and field testing in soils, aggregates and/or Asphalt to relevant standards (AS1289, AS1141, AS2891, TfNSW methods);
- Has an understanding of NATA ISO/IEC 17025 requirements and NATA approved Signatory;
- Strong Analytical skills;
- Physical fitness and ability to undertake manual handling;
- Good verbal and written communication;
- Self-motivation with ability to work with minimal supervision;
- Current Australian Drivers Licence essential;
- Nuclear gauge license (preferred) with experience in Field Nuclear;
- Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques (preferred);
- White card;
- Commitment to safety, quality, and integrity;
- Attention to detail, high level of accuracy;
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and work away from time when required.
