Job Overview

A unique opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic and collaborative research team within the Centre for Clinical and Experimental Transplantation (CCET), based across the Royal Adelaide Hospital and the University of Adelaide.

As a Research Assistant, you will play a vital part in advancing human immunology research, particularly supporting the MRFF-funded SIR ZOSTER clinical trial. This study explores how immunosuppressive drugs impact the immune response to the Shingrix vaccine in transplant recipients — work that has real-world potential to improve health outcomes.

The successful candidate will develop and refine a broad range of research skills, including the processing and analysis of clinical samples, coordination with trial teams, biobanking, and immunological assays such as ELISA and flow cytometry.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A Bachelor of Science or equivalent qualification is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Sound knowledge of human biology and basic laboratory practices is necessary.
  • A genuine interest in scientific research and the life-saving impact of organ transplantation is desired.
