The role requires a highly experienced mechanical engineer to join our Minerals team in Brisbane. You will report to the Manager of Engineering and be responsible for managing design outputs, coordinating with teams, and ensuring compliance with project requirements.

The tasks you'll perform include:

  • Interdisciplinary coordination of technical aspects of the project design.
  • Timely reviews of project mechanical drawings to achieve full compliance with design intent.
  • Approving, guiding, and reviewing engineering designs, including calculations & design development.
  • Developing technical documentation using relevant industry standards and guidelines.
  • Liaising with the drafting team in the preparation of drawing deliverables.
  • Approving and assisting with the delivery of accurate engineering lists.
  • Maximizing productivity and efficiency by planning, scheduling, and allocating resources.
  • Contributing to engineers-in-training professional development through mentoring.
  • Developing improvement initiatives that support business priorities.

Estimated salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience.

The expertise you'll bring includes:

  • University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 15+ years post-graduate experience in mineral processing or related industries.
  • CP Eng and RPEQ qualifications (preferred).
  • Ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams effectively.
  • Understanding of business acumen with adaptability to different environments.
  • Leadership skills to initiate, lead, and manage change.
  • Attention to detail and knowledge of process optimization.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality service within budget and time constraints.
