About the Role

The Echo Entertainment Group is seeking an experienced Chief Steward to lead our stewarding team at The Star Brisbane. As a key member of our food and beverage department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and efficiency in all kitchens and back-of-house areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the stewarding team to meet high standards of cleanliness and efficiency
  • Develop and implement procedures and processes to improve results and efficiencies
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of team members
  • Forecast and control the monthly P&L for the department
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety, hygiene, security, and fire safety regulations
  • Foster a winning, solution-oriented work environment that motivates and engages team members to deliver exceptional service to our guests

Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of WH&S and ability to implement safety protocols
  • High level of written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to foster strong working relationships and lead a diverse team
  • High volume or multi-outlet experience highly regarded

You will be an experienced leader with a strong attention to detail and high standard of safety measures. You will enjoy working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for delivering exceptional service to our guests. Your background in back-of-house kitchen environments will put you in good stead for this role and will see you thrive in this busy environment.

As a key member of our team, you will be critical in leading the team through transition, whilst setting and maintaining the highest service and safety standards. You will also be responsible for fostering positive relationships, driving change, and communicating effectively.
