Nurse Unit Manager Role Overview

This is a challenging opportunity to lead the Kate Hill Ward team as a Nurse Unit Manager, driving clinical excellence and optimizing patient care.

About the Role:
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance patient care, leveraging expert clinical knowledge to inform decision making and drive quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure seamless admissions and discharges, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to meet National Elective Surgery Target (NEST) requirements.
  • Utilize information systems effectively to monitor and analyze incidents, ensuring quality and safety are maintained at all times.
  • Prioritize culturally sensitive care, promoting inclusive services for patients and their families.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding a current practicing certificate.
  • Registered Nurse with at least 3 years post-registration experience, demonstrating effective leadership skills and strong communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated competence in surgical nursing practice, adhering to relevant standards.
  • Proven ability to supervise students, enrolled nurses, and less experienced registered nurses and midwives.
