Ship Operations Coordinator Role

The role of Ship Operations Coordinator is pivotal in ensuring that the technical maintenance functions within the System Program Office are effectively undertaken by the Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment and Commercial Auxiliary Systems Program Office. This involves specialist, technical research and analysis, conducting reviews, assessments, and providing procedural or operational support to achieve results.

Main Responsibilities

  • To coordinate and contribute to team work consistent with a defined work plan.
  • To provide advice and assistance on methods of task completion to team members.
  • To set work priorities, allocate tasks, and manage workflows and performance.
  • To review and develop the quality of work undertaken by others and identify opportunities for on-the-job training.
  • To liaise and coordinate with various stakeholders, including executives, contractors, APS, and ADF members.
  • To prepare contract documentation.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and verbal communication skills are required to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders. Highly developed written communication skills are also necessary to review and prepare contract documentation. The ability to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development is essential.
