About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Software Developer to join our team at Qantas Airways. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying scalable and secure cloud-based applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-quality, robust, and maintainable backend cloud applications using Kotlin/Java.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize requirements, specifications, and technical design documents.
  • Manage programming task schedules, coordinate with multiple teams, and ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Identify, analyze, and correct common issues in multi-threaded game engines, such as load times, memory usage, and CPU/GPU performance.
  • Deliver high-quality code, ensuring security, maintainability, and scalability.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in developing, deploying, debugging, and testing backend cloud applications.
  • Good technical skills and demonstrable knowledge of at least one backend programming language (Kotlin/Java).
  • Confidence in balancing technical and communication skills, with the ability to adjust to your audience.
  • Attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset.
  • Comfortable learning and adapting to cross-functional requirements from various domains.
