Job Opportunity

SGS is seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to support our analytical capabilities in soil, water, and air testing. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine analyses and delivering accurate, timely results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine preparations and analysis of soil and water samples.
  • Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment to prevent contamination.
  • Perform scheduled instrument calibration and maintenance in accordance with written procedures.
  • Assist in receiving, unpacking, and registering samples received.
  • Dispose of samples as required.
  • Understand and apply general laboratory QA/QC criteria and NATA accreditation requirements.
  • Use safety and personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly and when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as directed by your Supervisor.
  • Maintain and update skills, qualifications, and knowledge through internal, external, and on-the-job training/courses.

Requirements:

  • TAFE or tertiary qualification in science or Chemistry.
  • Working experience preferably in an environmental laboratory.
  • Flexibility with working hours and tasks (mainly Monday to Friday, 1pm to 9pm shift).
