Job Description">

As a seasoned legal professional, you will be responsible for providing commercially focused legal services to support the strategic objectives of our organization. Your expertise in construction law will be instrumental in navigating complex projects and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

The role involves delivering timely and cost-effective legal advice and assistance, either directly or by managing external legal resources. You will work closely with various business units to ensure that our organization is appropriately advised to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing written and oral advice on legal matters related to construction law
  • Drafting agreements and correspondence
  • Managing litigation and other dispute resolution processes
  • Attending internal and external meetings
  • Negotiating with third parties and their lawyers

Additionally, you will be expected to:

  • Anticipate legal exposures and brief senior management as necessary
  • Maintain awareness of legislative and regulatory changes affecting our operations
  • Contribute to the development of corporate policies and initiatives
  • Review and revise precedent agreements to ensure they are current and in plain English

Required Skills and Qualifications">

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Minimum 5 years' post-admission legal experience, preferably in construction law
  • Law degree and current practicing certificate
  • Experience in evaluating and reviewing external advice and advising on key legal issues
  • Infrastructure experience is highly desirable
