Our Energy and Industrial Team

We are expanding our team and seeking an experienced Functional Safety Specialist to collaborate with our wider teams. You will support our busy team undertaking studies on major projects within the Western Australia market, across Iron Ore and Brownfields projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Functional Safety Management Plans as per AS 4024/ISO 13849, IEC 62061, and IEC 61511 standards.
  • Facilitate HAZID/HAZOP/LOPA workshops and write reports.
  • Determine Performance Levels, create Safety Requirements Specifications, and design and realize safety-related systems.
  • Test and validate Safety Instrumented Systems, verify and conduct Functional Safety Assessments, and plan for operation and maintenance.
  • Cyber Security Risk Assessment.
  • Mentor junior functional safety engineers.
  • Participate in the full lifecycle of projects from inception to execution.

Requirements

  • A degree-qualified engineer in an appropriate discipline (Electrical, Control Systems, Mechanical, etc.) with a minimum of 8 years of functional safety-related experience, preferably with projects in the Pilbara region and/or Northern Western Australia.
  • Certified as a functional safety engineer or expert by a recognized body (Exida, TUV Rheinland, etc.).
  • Demonstrable skills and proficiency in the use of functional safety software packages such as PHA Pro or exSILentia.
  • A background in Control Systems and a desire to support and/or develop in other capabilities.
