About the Role

This is a 6-month secondment opportunity to provide expertise and experience in IT infrastructure and Azure Cloud to support the IT Strategy for SA's future business needs and processes.

The role assists in Azure cloud services, system installations, security, as well as monitoring and maintaining the organisation's IT servers and evaluating cloud technology, new server hardware and software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the build, design, deploy and maintenance of Microsoft Azure Cloud solutions
  • Help implement the technology direction, vision, and strategy to enable Cloud technology adoption
  • Assist in projects around further software defined services and offerings
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain automation of cloud enablement tools
  • Assist in the design, build and monitor the performance and availability of all IT infrastructure and Cloud based solutions to optimise efficiencies and security
  • Maintain the security and integrity of the network
  • Contribute to the planning and deployment of infrastructure security measures
  • Help in investigations and determine business requirements
  • Management of performance, support, monitoring, and maintenance of all existing Technology Infrastructure; Servers, Systems, Networking and Applications
  • Resolve escalated support issues
  • Support application development teams throughout project lifecycles
  • Liaise with vendors and consultants
  • Maintain up-to date documentation
  • Manage risk management and Change control
  • Management of the internal and external Data Centre infrastructure
  • Conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of all infrastructure procurement and development efforts
  • Provide guidance to the IT Service Desk team, including but not limited to the transfer of day-to-day IT infrastructure knowledge to the team
  • Some afterhours and weekend work including monitoring is required

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3+ years of relevant IT experience
  • 1+ years working with cloud platforms
  • Knowledge of DevOps and Agile is highly regarded
  • 3+ years of experience as a systems administrator in a client or server environment, including deployment automation tools
  • Certifications on Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, including Solutions Architect, Developer or Google Cloud
  • Relevant bachelors or master's degree or relevant industry experience
  • ITIL foundations or Higher
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work with minimal direction
  • Ability to work in a complex and dynamic environment
  • Strong team player
