About Us
The National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) is Australia's premier training ground for future leaders and practitioners in the dramatic arts. We are committed to providing high-quality education and training in the dramatic arts, and we are seeking talented individuals to join our team as casual teachers and guest artists.
About the Role
We are seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced teachers and guest artists to work with us on a casual basis. As a casual teacher or guest artist, you will have the opportunity to work with our students and contribute to the development of our programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach and mentor students in a variety of dramatic arts disciplines, including acting, design, costume, properties and objects, technical theatre and stage management, scenic construction, writing for performance, directing, and cultural leadership.
- Develop and deliver curriculum materials and assessments that meet the needs of our students.
- Contribute to the development of our programs and services, including curriculum design, program evaluation, and quality assurance.
- Collaborate with other staff members to achieve the goals and objectives of the Institute.
Requirements
- Relevant qualifications and experience in a dramatic arts discipline.
- Strong teaching and mentoring skills, with the ability to work with students of varying skill levels and backgrounds.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, students, and external stakeholders.
- A commitment to the values and mission of NIDA, including a strong commitment to equity and inclusion.
