Animal Health Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team at Blount Veterinary Clinic. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting veterinarians and technicians with patient care and treatment, monitoring hospitalized pets, maintaining inventory, preparing prescriptions, performing routine in-house laboratory work, educating clients regarding veterinary care and procedures, and assisting with surgical procedures.
Responsibilities:- Assist veterinarians in outpatient exams by taking histories, vital signs, and weights, as well as providing client education
- Clean and straighten exam rooms, treatment, and lab areas; restock exam rooms with supplies
- Demonstrate warmth, courtesy and professionalism in all interactions with clients; exercise compassion and care in all interactions with patients
- Ability to work on weekends as required
- Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety
