Youth Support Specialist

As a compassionate and enthusiastic Youth Support Specialist, you'll play a key part in helping youth overcome challenges and build their confidence.

We are currently offering Permanent Part-Time and Casual opportunities in Theresa Park, NSW 2570 and surrounding areas. Our goal is to create a safe and stable environment for young people to thrive.

About the Role:

You'll be more than just a Youth Support Specialist. You'll be a mentor, a role model, and a change-maker. You'll engage with young people, guiding them through life skills development and personal growth. You'll also empower them by encouraging their active participation in decisions that impact their lives.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Mentor and support young people in achieving their goals and aspirations.
• Provide hands-on support with day-to-day tasks like meal prep, shopping, and housekeeping to ensure a safe and stable environment.
• Collaborate with a vibrant team to tailor services that meet the specific needs of each young person.
• Safeguard their wellbeing by reporting any concerns to ensure they're safe and supported.

What We're Looking For:

• A Diploma in Youth Work or a related field (or be willing to obtain one).
• Demonstrated experience in youth services or residential care.
• A deep understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and a commitment to cultural competency.
• A trauma-informed approach to working with young people facing significant challenges.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage, motivate, and support youth effectively.

• Valid and Current Driver's Licence
• Valid and Current Working with Children's Check
• Valid and Current NDIS Workers Screening Check
• Satisfactory Criminal History Check
