Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight of facilities management operations, including maintenance, operations, and capital projects.
  • Manage a team of facilities management staff, including hiring, training, and developing direct reports.
  • Develop and implement facilities management policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, maintenance, and operations, to ensure seamless delivery of facilities management services.
  • Manage budgets and financial reports, including forecasting and preparing budgets and reports summarizing financial, operating, and capital performance data.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with regulatory agencies, vendors, contractors, tenants, and employees.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, facilities management, or related field required.
  • Certification in facilities management a plus.
  • 15+ years of progressive facilities management experience, including leadership and management of facilities management teams, maintenance staff, and contractors.
  • Technical education and hands-on experience in HVAC design and engineering, electrical design and engineering, plumbing design and engineering, and other building support systems.
  • Experience managing 24/7 operations with both union and non-union engineering and maintenance staff a plus.
  • Proven experience with sustainability and energy conservation programs in commercial or institutional buildings required, with LEED accreditation desirable.
  • Computer literate, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, AutoCAD, CMMS, and BAS.
  • Ability to read and understand building plans and specifications.
  • Strong customer service focus and ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial terms and principles relating to facilities management and real estate transactions.
