About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Human Rights Lawyer to join our team at Empire Group. As a Senior Associate, you will be part of a national team of 30 lawyers, led by three Partners, and will have the opportunity to work on a variety of cases related to human services and vulnerabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dealing with internal disputes in non-profit organizations;
  • Advising and representing respondents in historical institutional child-sexual abuse claims;
  • Acting for non-government schools, churches, aged care and disability providers in respect of litigated disputes and regulatory matters;
  • Being involved in Coronial Inquests;
  • Advising and acting for out-of-home care providers.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in insurance litigation or civil litigation;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Ability to display strong empathy and build strong relationships with stakeholders;
  • Solid academic background.
