Job Summary

The Agriculture, Fisheries & Forestry organization is seeking a highly skilled Project Officer to support the Indigenous Rangers Biosecurity Program in the Science and Surveillance Group. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in managing contracts and grants with Indigenous organizations, ensuring the successful delivery of the program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage financial functions, including paying invoices and supporting the preparation and monitoring of contracts with Indigenous organizations.
  • Oversee the ongoing management of grant agreements and contracts, including liaising with Indigenous organizations, complying with relevant legislation and policy, reviewing reports, and tracking progress.
  • Assist in the design, selection, and agreement-making phases of grant round management.
  • Support procurement initiatives and other projects as required.
  • Prepare high-quality, timely, and accurate correspondence, briefings, and reports.
  • Maintain and monitor databases and spreadsheets.
  • Liaise with Indigenous organizations.
  • Provide general administration support as directed.

About the Role

The Indigenous Rangers and Business Management Unit engages Indigenous Rangers on a fee-for-service basis to undertake biosecurity surveillance activities, building biosecurity capability and providing economic opportunities for First Nations communities across northern Australia. As a Project Officer, you will play a pivotal role in achieving these outcomes by assisting with the management of contracts and grants with First Nations organizations.

  • Previous grant delivery and/or finance or procurement experience.
