Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced nurse or midwife leader to fill the role of Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager – Acute Services at Clare Hospital.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who wants to make a real impact in rural healthcare, providing leadership and support to a dynamic team while contributing to the ongoing development of essential healthcare services in the beautiful Clare Valley.

About the Role

As the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the management, leadership, and continuity of care across the Acute, Emergency Department (ED), Renal, and Chemotherapy Units at Clare Hospital. You will play a key role in clinical service planning, staff development, and service improvement initiatives, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to our community.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the nursing teams in Acute, ED, Renal, and Chemotherapy services, ensuring excellent patient care and staff performance.
  • Collaborate with other nurse unit managers to enhance clinical service delivery.
  • Contribute to service planning and development, driving continuous improvement and service quality.
  • Foster a culture of professional development and clinical excellence within your units.

Requirements

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate. OR Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Registered Nurse and/or Midwife with at least 3 years post-registration experience.
  • Experience in management and leadership roles, including supervision of students, enrolled nurses, and less experienced registered nurses and/or midwives.
  • Experience in using computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing and/or midwifery practice.

Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate will receive a salary ranging from $121,537 to $126,970 p.a. (RN/M3). The position also offers opportunities for career growth and development in a supportive and collaborative environment.
