We are seeking a skilled Forensic Accounting expert to join our dynamic team at Lead Group in Brisbane.

As a Forensic Accounting Specialist, you will apply critical thinking and analytical skills to identify key issues with financial and non-financial information and provide expert insights within the commercial litigation unit. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluating damages in various matters, such as trade practices disputes, insurance claims, business interruption, and defamation actions.
  • Examining expert reports and assisting in the defence of a claim.
  • Providing technical support to Courts, Counsel, and solicitors to understand damages claims.
  • Evaluating and preparing evidence for prosecutions or defendant cases.
  • Valuing entities that were part of the matrimonial pool.
  • Investigating the existence and ownership of assets.
  • Examining complex business structures to determine the relevant interests of parties involved.
  • Managing and delegating client work to members of the forensic unit, including reviewing work and providing ongoing feedback.
  • Ongoing development of technical knowledge, creating and delivering training to staff and/or potential clients where applicable.
  • Collaborating with Directors on complex technical issues.
  • Participating in performance review processes of junior staff, assisting in setting and monitoring performance-related goals.

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

  • Full working rights in Australia.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Forensic Accounting.
  • Previous experience in Tax/Business Services, with strong technical skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or similar; CA/CPA qualifications preferred.
  • Established relationships within the legal and commercial environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • A continuing interest in developing and maintaining knowledge of current and evolving economic, business, and industry issues.
  • An ability to work with changing priorities to meet deadlines.

The estimated annual salary for this role is around $120,000 - $180,000 AUD, depending on experience and qualifications.
