About the Role

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) is seeking an experienced Neonatologist to join our Paediatric Infant and Perinatal Emergency Retrieval service (PIPER). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert care to critically ill newborns and infants, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the triage and stabilisation advice process, including identification of an appropriate receiving unit bed
  • Work with nursing colleagues to ensure appropriate solutions for complex clinical and logistic issues
  • Lead escalation processes
  • Clinical governance activities, including case review and quality improvement initiatives
  • Lead and participate in multidisciplinary education activities, including outreach education in non-tertiary hospitals
  • Provide professional guidance and support for the service's JMS and nursing staff
Requirements
  • FRACP or equivalent in Neonatology
  • Neonatal retrieval experience
  • Demonstrated capacity to work harmoniously and collaboratively within a small team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Specialist Medical Registration with AHPRA
