Overview

The Human Research Ethics Committee reviews research projects to ensure they meet ethical requirements.

To support research activities, the committee attends regular meetings and reviews applications between meetings.

Responsibilities
  • Attend committee meetings with remote participation optional.
  • Review applications and associated documents regularly.
  • Participate in an induction process for new members.
Qualifications and Attributes
  • Ability to communicate well and listen to diverse views.
  • Interest in ethics; lack of formal training is not a barrier.
  • Sufficient time commitment includes attending meetings and reviewing applications.
  • Desirable knowledge or experience includes professional care, pastoral leadership roles, qualified lawyers, and broader community perspectives.
