Lead Process Engineer Role

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer to lead our team in delivering complex projects from concept select through to detailed design and commissioning. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in Chemical/Process Engineering, excellent communication skills, and experience in managing and tracking single-discipline projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide expertise and manage process design through engineering phases.
  • Proactively communicate with Project Managers and Team Members to ensure Projects are delivered within scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Manage and track single-discipline projects.
  • Prepare proposals and tenders for new and ongoing works.
  • Provide technical guidance to develop junior engineers.
  • Source new clients and leverage existing relationships to promote the Process offering and drive opportunities.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Process Engineering degree (or equivalent) with 15+ years process design experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • CPEng or CEng/RPEQ registration.
  • Excellent skills in using Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, UniSim, and DNV PHAST software packages.
  • Sound knowledge of process safety including risk identification and assessment through HAZID/HAZOP, dispersion/radiation analysis, and hazardous area classification.
  • Skills in preparing PFD's, P&ID's, heat and material balances, instruments and equipment data sheets, utilities flow diagrams, and chemical consumption/effluent summaries.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Ability and experience in providing technical support through the full lifecycle of the projects.
  • Ability to be hands on, flexible and work autonomously on multiple projects.
  • A confident communicator and team player with the ability to drive projects and clients' success.
  • Highly skilled in mentoring the Junior Engineers and build a positive working environment.
  • Skills in tackling conflicting deadlines and manage them by prioritization.
