About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow to join our team at the University of South Australia's Education Futures. As a key member of our team, you will provide leadership, project coordination, and educational program development across a range of school-partnered design and research projects within the Education Futures Academy initiative.

You will have particular responsibility for developing the new employment-based initial teacher education pathway, the Teaching Futures Pathway. This will involve initiating and maintaining complex industry partnerships, using your deep scholarly and/or professional knowledge to make major contributions to program and course curriculum development, and overseeing program administration.

You will also supervise the work of a local team as well as school-based staff who are typically teachers seconded to the projects. Additionally, you will proactively support and contribute to research and evaluation, and contribute to the dissemination of findings in high-quality scholarly and/or professional outlets as appropriate to the level of appointment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, document, and implement learning activities and the associated administrative functions of school-partnered projects, including the Teaching Futures Pathway.
  • Contribute to and lead the collaborative design and development of engaging curricula and materials, ensuring that teaching is informed by relevant research and contemporary practices in the field.
  • Work collaboratively and reciprocally with staff across the University and relevant partner organizations to ensure that project materials represent contemporary practice and theory.
  • Actively engage in professional outreach activities and engage with public forums and the media to promote projects and programs to prospective partners, students, research partners, and government.
  • Plan, review, and manage resources to facilitate project objectives and ensure efficient achievement of project deliverables.
  • Lead and mentor school-based project staff, including teachers seconded to projects, to ensure excellent teacher professional learning.
Essential Skills and Experience

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual with a doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional/industry leadership experience. You will have well-developed interpersonal skills to effectively interact and engage with relevant stakeholders, particularly in K-12 school contexts, and the ability to positively contribute to the workplace as a part of an academic team.

You will also have demonstrated high-quality teaching outcomes and success in supporting teacher professional learning, and eligibility for accreditation as a teacher at Highly Accomplished or Lead Teacher level as defined by the AITSL Professional Teaching Standards.

For the Level CSRF position, you will have demonstrated impact in academic and/or school leadership and demonstrable ability to work in complex environments, to work productively with and lead teams, and to work to deadlines.
