Xavier Children's Support Network is a leading provider of disability services in Brisbane, with a proud history of supporting children and young people with complex health and disability needs.
We are seeking an experienced Enrolled Nurse to join our team, providing high-quality care and support to our clients in a variety of settings, including in-home shifts, community-based locations, and our short-term accommodation facility, Xavier Place.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in general nursing, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in medical nursing in community and/or hospital settings. They will be able to work independently, with minimal direct supervision, and have excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
The role will involve:
- Providing personal care and support to clients with complex disabilities and health conditions
- Assessing and developing health implementation plans under the direction of a Registered Nurse
- Supervising and teaching support workers
- Identifying and escalating deterioration in clients
- Responding to situations in less stable and/or changed circumstances
The ideal candidate will have:
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in general nursing, acquired as an Enrolled Nurse with complex medical needs clients
- Experience working in disability or healthcare settings with children and/or young people with complex needs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, required for working with diverse stakeholders
- Problem-solving skills to meet the unique needs of individuals and families in the community
To be considered for this role, you will need to:
- Hold a Diploma in Nursing (HLT54115) with AHPRA registration
- Meet suitability requirements for work, including a national police check and agreement to sign a statutory declaration regarding any overseas criminal offences
- Hold an NDIS Worker Screening Check and certificate of completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Have appropriate work rights for Australia and a current driver's licence
