About the Division / Team

Our Hunter Valley network is crucial for the coal supply chain, managing a high volume of rail traffic daily. We ensure the seamless operation of approximately 250 trains, including coal, passenger, and various freight services.

About the Opportunity

Located in Muswellbrook, NSW, this role offers a balanced lifestyle roster. We are looking for Signal Electricians to join our Hunter Valley Asset Maintenance team. Key Responsibilities:

Signal Mastery: Install, maintain, and repair essential signalling and communication systems.

Fault Diagnosis:
Identify and troubleshoot issues to restore train operations efficiently.

Diverse Tasks:
Manage various responsibilities, from aerial line maintenance to intricate mechanical locking systems.

Safety Assurance:
Respond to emergencies and ensure all equipment operates safely and effectively.

Knowledge Sharing:
Mentor and supervise team members, promoting a culture of safety and collaboration.

Performance Improvement:
Suggest enhancements to optimize system performance and reliability.

Team Collaboration:
Work cohesively with colleagues to foster a positive work environment and effective communication.

About You

To succeed in this position, candidates should demonstrate:

Essential Qualifications:

Qualified Railway Signal Electrician
Understanding of rail safety management, OHS principles, and electrical codes
Proven experience in troubleshooting signal and communication equipment in a rail context
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Familiarity with quality systems and customer service principles
Valid Class C Driver’s License
ARTC Statement of Competency (Signals) or the ability to obtain it through competency assessment

Desirable Qualifications:

In-depth knowledge of telemetry and computer interlocking systems
Current AUSTEL / ACA license
