An exciting role exists for an innovative leader to join the regional music team as Head of Department- Curriculum, based at Pimpama State School.

About the Role

This position will contribute to curriculum implementation, drive high-level learning outcomes, and foster quality pedagogy within the Instrumental Music (IM) Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the relevant curriculum areas or whole school program to develop a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
  • Support Instrumental Music (IM) teachers in curriculum implementation and delivery.
  • Ensure quality assurance processes related to the IM Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE).
  • Drive recruitment and retention efforts to create an inclusive IM program.
  • Contribute to twice-yearly moderation and provide support to teachers across primary and high school levels.
Requirements and Conditions
  • Based at the South East Regional Music Hub at Pimpama State School, with frequent travel across the region.
  • Includes a teaching component as part of the regional Instrumental Music team.
  • Current Working with Children Clearance (Blue Card) issued by Blue Card Services may be required for regulated roles.
