Role Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and caring Disability Support Worker to join our Home Care team in Central Coast Areas. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support services to individuals with disabilities, enabling them to live independently and participate fully in their communities.

  • Assisting participants to develop options, make well-grounded decisions and promote community inclusion, independence, decision making and personal choice is a vital part of this role. You will work closely with participants to identify their needs and goals, and develop individual plans that cater to their unique requirements. Regularly reviewing these plans will ensure that the participant's needs continue to be met, and that they have the opportunity to grow and develop in meaningful ways.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide person-centred care and support to participants, ensuring that their physical, emotional and social needs are met. This includes administering medication as required, assisting with daily living tasks such as bathing and dressing, and promoting independence by supporting participants to complete tasks on their own.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, service providers and external agencies, communicating openly and honestly about participant needs and progress.
Requirements
  • A genuine commitment to supporting people with disabilities in their home and within the community is essential. Flexibility and adaptability are also key attributes, as you may need to work a variety of shifts and respond to changing circumstances.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate and eligibility to work in Australia are mandatory.
  • Access to a dependable car and a current driver's licence are also necessary for travel between locations and performing duties as required.
