Administrative Support Officer

This is a Justice Officer role with the Department of Justice and Community Safety, Victoria, where you will provide administrative support to the Justice Services branch in North West Metro. The role is a Fixed-Term, Full-Time opportunity to work with a high-performing and passionate team in the Victorian Public Service for 8 months. The salary for this role is VPS Grade 2: $58,539 - $75,175 plus superannuation.
**About the Role:**
The Justice Officer is a position in the Corporate Governance and Support team with the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS), North West Metropolitan Area (NWMA). The North West Metropolitan Area (NWMA) accounts for approximately 1800 staff across 21 sites. These sites are located in either the North or West of the Area and deliver a range of services including: custodial services at prisons, Community Correctional Services, Youth Justice Services, Sheriff's Operations, Consumer Affairs, front of house enquiries (including Births, Deaths and Marriages applications) and management of community services (including Victims' Support across the area).
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Providing a range of high quality and efficient front of house administrative services, such as Consumer Affairs or Births, Deaths and Marriages enquiries and applications, and other services relevant to the location.
- Providing information and assistance to clients, internal and external stakeholders and the public including the collation, review and processing of applications.
- Providing reception and telephone responses for the location.

- **Written Communication** – The ability to produce a range of standard written documents, providing clear information and using language appropriate to the audience.
- **Verbal Communication** – The ability to assess the audience and provide appropriately tailored and clear information and explanations to a range of groups in an effective and confident manner, dealing with challenging behaviour firmly but politely.
- **Computer Skills** – The ability to effectively use departmental computer systems for basic word processing, email, appointment scheduling, and internet and intranet functions.
