Nursing Support Professional

The Assistant in Nursing plays a vital role in delivering high-standard patient care in an acute care environment.
- Plans and collaborates with Registered Nurses/Midwives to achieve desired health outcomes for patients in a timely and efficient manner.
- Carries out all aspects of direct patient care under the direction, guidance, supervision, and coordination of a Registered Nurse/Midwife.
- Assists nursing/midwifery caregivers to deliver all aspects of care using a patient-centred approach.
- Observes and reports changes in patients' conditions to Registered Nurses/Midwives in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Responds appropriately to patients' needs/call bells in a timely manner.
To excel as an Assistant in Nursing, you must have:
Key Qualifications- Active enrolment in and successful completion of at least 12 months of an NMBA-approved Bachelor of Nursing/Midwifery or Diploma of Nursing Program or Certificate III in Health Service Assistance (Acute Care).
- Well-developed communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of and commitment to Quality Improvement and Infection Control standards.
