Administrative Support Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support and assistance in the day-to-day operations of our Planning and Development Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide front-line contact for public inquiries via walk-ins, email, and telephone, directing them to the appropriate staff person or resources.
  • Assist professional staff in the day-to-day operation of the Departments, including software proficiency in Microsoft Office, Access database, Excel, InDesign, Canva, and Adobe Pro.
  • Responsible for the administration and organization of a vast and varied amount of material to be available for use by professional staff.
  • Coordinate large, often time-sensitive print jobs for the Departments with outside printers.
  • Maintain filling systems and Department records.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • 1 year post-secondary diploma in business administration or related field.
  • 2 years related office experience.
  • Knowledge of business related software, customer service, and municipal government.

Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Software proficiency, including Microsoft Office, Access database, Excel, InDesign, Canva, and Adobe Pro.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team setting.

Benefits:

  • $30.67 to $35.89 per hour.
  • Opportunity to opt in to an OMERS pension plan.
