Vicinity Centres is a leading Australian shopping centre owner and operator, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences.


We are seeking an experienced Operations Development Manager to join our team at Chadstone, Melbourne's largest shopping centre. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the success of one of Australia's premier retail destinations.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Work closely with the Operations Manager – Infrastructure & Integration to develop and implement operational strategies that deliver best-in-class outcomes for customers, retailers, and staff.
  • Assist with reviewing documentation sets and provide recommendations to ensure compliance with legislative obligations, Australian Standards, and Vicinity procedures.
  • Conduct daily safety audits and identify public interface risks to ensure a safe working environment for all stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external key stakeholders, including contractors, emergency services, local council, and internal staff.
  • Provide support for the 'Operations Manager – Infrastructure & Integration' and subject matter experts to exceed industry best practice for health, safety, risk, and security components.
  • Ensure project interfaces with active centre operations are executed to the highest possible standard every day for retailers, customers, and staff.
  • Plan and liaise with marketing, retail, guest experience, and operations teams to execute development projects.
  • Monitor, manage, and communicate upcoming scheduled works with centre management, retailers, and other relevant stakeholders.

Requirements:



  • A minimum of three years' experience in a relevant field, preferably in operations or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of contractor management, permits, and general compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of business operating systems, such as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage preliminary budgets and forecast future spend.
  • Critical understanding of customer service and brand reputation.
