Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Payroll and HR Support Specialist to join our team at DCL Recruitment. The successful candidate will have a strong background in payroll and human resources, with excellent communication and analytical skills.

About the Role

The Payroll and HR Support Specialist will be responsible for processing weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payroll for 600+ employees. This will involve remitting payroll taxes and government reporting, preparing monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll reporting, and assisting with current payroll projects. The successful candidate will also determine payroll liabilities through accurate calculations of employee salaries, taxes, superannuation, leave entitlements, and workers' compensation payments.

Responsibilities
  1. Process payroll for 600+ employees on a weekly, fortnightly, and monthly basis.
  2. Remit payroll taxes and government reporting.
  3. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll reporting.
  4. Assist with current payroll projects.
  5. Determine payroll liabilities through accurate calculations.
Financial and Operational Tasks
  1. Prepare and review payroll account reconciliations.
  2. Maintain accurate account balances and keep detailed records for tax and audit purposes.
  3. Prepare and distribute monthly payroll reporting to managers.
  4. End-to-end process new hires and terminations.
  5. Manage time cards, time entry, and timekeeping software and systems.
  6. Calculate and process off-cycle payments as required.
Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate will have:

  • Prior experience in payroll and human resources.
  • Experience using payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understanding of payroll procedures, laws, taxes, insurances, and best practices.
