We are currently working with the Western Australian Electoral Commission to provide a large workforce for the upcoming state election. Our clients rely on us to deliver high-quality candidates for their staffing needs.

The positions we are hiring for include:

Issuing Officer

This role involves issuing ballot papers to eligible voters on polling day. The officer must ensure that all materials are distributed correctly and that voters have access to necessary information. After 6 pm, the Issuing Officer becomes a Counting Officer, responsible for conducting the vote count.

  • The work schedule includes a single day of weekend work, from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm.
  • The position requires attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
Student Electoral Officer

We are seeking Year 11 or 12 students to assist with polling place duties. This is an excellent opportunity for young individuals to gain experience in a dynamic environment.

  • The work schedule includes a single day of weekend work, from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm.
  • The position offers limited hours but provides valuable experience for students.
Voter Information Officer

This role involves assisting electors with language, literacy, or other requirements. Officers may be deployed to polling places with high concentrations of culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) or indigenous electors.

  • The work schedule includes weekday and weekend work, from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, with extended hours on the final day.
  • The position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills.
General Assistant

Larger polling places will have General Assistants allocated to them. These individuals will assist with setup and pack up, as well as support the counting process.

  • The work schedule includes Friday and Saturday work, with varying hours.
  • The position requires flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
Ballot Box Guard

This role involves ensuring that correct ballot box papers are inserted into the boxes. Guards also rotate as Issuing Officers and Queue Controllers, playing a vital role in maintaining the smooth operation of polling places. After 6 pm, the Ballot Box Guard becomes a Counting Officer, responsible for conducting the vote count.

  • The work schedule includes a single day of weekend work, from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm.
  • The position requires attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
Queue Controller

This role involves managing the queue into the polling place and directing electors as needed. Controllers also rotate as Issuing Officers and Ballot Box Guards, contributing to the efficient operation of polling places. After 6 pm, the Queue Controller becomes a Counting Officer, responsible for conducting the vote count.

  • The work schedule includes a single day of weekend work, from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm.
  • The position requires excellent organizational and communication skills.
