Junior Accountant Position Summary

This is a dynamic and fast-paced Junior Accountant role that offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience in accounting and finance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily bookkeeping tasks, including processing bank account transactions, monitoring outstanding debtor balances, and following up on overdue accounts.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and perform reconciliations as required.
  • Process various journals, including project, recovery, and general ledger journals.
  • Manage and reconcile financial arrangements, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Collaborate with senior accountants to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal departments and external entities.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Possession of a postgraduate degree in Accounting or Finance is essential.
  • Working towards CA/CPA qualification will be highly regarded.
  • Experience in the resource engineering and construction industry or similar field is desirable.
  • Demonstrated understanding of core accounting principles and compliance with Australian financial regulations.
  • Minimum one year's experience working as an Accountant is necessary.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are required.
  • Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail are necessary.
  • Experience with D365 Finance and Operations and Power BI or similar self-service business intelligence tools is desirable.
