As a Family Therapy Specialist, you will be working in a unique rural setting in North Richmond, NSW, where you will provide intensive, individualised support to vulnerable young parents and their children. This role plays a critical part in transforming the lives of young parents and their children by improving their safety, wellbeing, and life prospects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide therapeutic and counselling interventions for young people and their families, using a range of therapeutic modalities, including expressive and creative therapies.
  • Participate in intake, assessment, workshops, and referrals, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of each client's needs.
  • Liaise with network and local agencies to ensure seamless support and collaboration.
  • Cosefacilitate staff training on mental health and trauma, promoting a culture of learning and growth within the team.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Counselling, with at least 3 years of experience working therapeutically with at-risk children, young people, and families.
  • A strong understanding of trauma and its impacts on development, behaviors, parenting, and attachment.
  • Experience using a wide range of modalities, including expressive and creative therapies.
  • Passion, commitment, and belief in young people's potential for growth and change.
