The Role

As a Logistics Operations Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and logistics functions. This is a full-time position that offers a stable and dynamic work environment, where you will have the opportunity to make a real impact on our business success.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement Logistics Strategies: Create and execute plans to optimize our warehouse and logistics operations, improving efficiency and reducing costs.
  • Lead and Manage Teams: Build a positive and productive team culture, managing and developing your staff to achieve their full potential.
  • Maintain Compliance: Ensure all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies are adhered to, maintaining our reputation for quality and integrity.
  • Build Relationships: Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers, driving collaboration and mutual benefit.
  • Schedule Staff: Plan and manage employee schedules to meet business needs, ensuring adequate staffing levels at all times.
  • Plan Deliveries: Coordinate deliveries to meet customer requirements, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of our products.
  • Support Vehicles: Oversee the maintenance and operation of our vehicles, ensuring they are safe and roadworthy.
  • Manage Inventory: Accurately track and manage inventory levels, minimizing stock discrepancies and optimizing storage space.
  • Maintenance and Cleaning: Ensure the warehouse and surrounding areas are well-maintained and clean, meeting health and safety standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including documentation of shipments, inventory, and other essential information.

Your Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role should possess:

  • Supply Chain Knowledge: A deep understanding of supply chain management principles and practices.
  • Human Resources Expertise: Familiarity with HR processes and legal requirements, particularly in relation to employment law and workplace safety.
  • Consumer Protection Awareness: Knowledge of laws and regulations governing perishable food products.
  • Continuous Improvement: Experience in implementing process improvements and driving organizational change.
  • Community Engagement: Understanding of government, industry, and community programs relevant to our business.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong ability to lead, influence, and motivate others.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and present complex information.
  • Critical Thinking: Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and innovatively.
  • Warehouse Systems: Proficiency in operating delivery vehicles and warehouse systems, with experience in managing inventory and tracking shipments.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and other essential software applications.
