This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of emergency services in South Australia. As the Emergency Management Director, you will lead SAFECOM under the guidance of its Board and work closely with SA's fire and emergency service organisations to ensure that volunteers and employees within the emergency services sector have the resources and support they need to carry out their vital work.

Key Responsibilities- Develop and manage a risk-based Emergency Management Framework for the State within a national context, working closely with the Chief Officers of the SA Metropolitan Fire Service, Country Fire Service and State Emergency Service.
- Ensure the effective allocation of resources within the ESS to provide frontline services that protect and support South Australia's community.
- Develop and maintain a strategic policy framework supported by risk management strategies and systems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to initiate sector improvements and maintain key capabilities such as Public Information and Warning Systems and the State Emergency Information Call Centre Capability.
- Engage with relevant volunteer associations and unions as part of the role's stakeholder engagement.
- Support the Minister for Emergency Services and Correctional Services in fulfilling legislative responsibilities under the Fire and Emergency Services Act 2005 (SA).
