As an Apprentice Trainer, you will play a critical role in developing and delivering training programs that meet the needs of our apprentices and support the growth of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain training materials that meet Hastings Deering Learning & Development standards, ensuring content is accurate, up-to-date, and relevant to the needs of our apprentices.
  • Maintain compliance with State and Federal Government standards and Registered Training Organisation (RTO) policies and procedures, ensuring that all accredited training courses delivered meet the required standards.
  • Facilitate a safe, positive, and open learning environment for our apprentices, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including apprentices, trainers, and management, to ensure smooth and professional facilitation of the HD L&D learning experience.
  • Deliver training programs that cater to diverse learning styles and needs, using a range of teaching methods and technologies to engage and motivate our apprentices.
  • Provide support to the broader Capability team in the delivery of non-accredited programs and courses, as required.

About You

We are looking for an individual with a strong background in diesel fitting and training, who is passionate about sharing their knowledge and experience with others. The ideal candidate will have:

AUR31220 Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology (or its equivalent or successor) is preferential. Alternatively, MEM Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (or equivalent) will be considered.Relevant post-trade experience within the surface or mining industries working in a workshop or field service environment. (Caterpillar machine maintenance, repair, and or Cat dealership experience highly desirable).A genuine interest in sharing knowledge and experience to support the apprentice learning journey to develop the future tradespeople for Hastings Deering and its customers.Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable - we will provide training for the right candidate).Attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines with competing priorities.Ability to work autonomously to achieve training outcomes.
