Investment Risk and Analytics Specialist

The Investment Risk and Analytics team at CAAT Pension Plan is seeking an experienced professional to deliver value-add analytics and risk reporting. This role will play a key part in supporting the investment decision-making process.

  • This is a high-impact role on a small team, requiring self-motivation, critical thinking, and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Key responsibilities include utilizing programming skills to develop and maintain tools for investment risk analysis, managing and validating holdings and market data used in analytical models, and collaborating with the Finance and Investments teams to ensure data accuracy.
Requirements
  • Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in a financial risk modelling or investment management-related function at an asset owner or other financial institution.
  • A post-secondary education from an accredited institution in finance, math, statistics, computer science, engineering, economics or other related disciplines.
  • Hands-on experience with a high-level programming language, preferably Python.
  • Pursuing the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), FRM (Financial Risk Management), or other related designations is considered a strong asset.
  • A strong foundational understanding of different financial instruments (including derivatives), asset classes, and investment strategies.
  • Experience with investment risk measurement concepts (VaR, SaR, active risk, shortfall risk) and applied quantitative techniques (regression, simulation, optimization).
