About the Role

The Liberty Bell Bay Furnace is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Production Operator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely executing production activities within the furnace operations according to the production plan and operating the physical assets, plant, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform molten material tasks, including sampling and temperature monitoring
  • Uphold and adhere to all safety procedures on site, identifying and assessing risk when necessary
  • Work with physical assets, plant, and equipment as defined by the Operations' standards and operating procedures
  • Safely undertake operation of the overhead gantry crane
  • Perform minor process maintenance on furnace equipment
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in the furnace building and surrounding areas
  • Complete equipment pre-start inspections

Requirements

  • Previous experience in mining, processing, or heavy manufacturing operations
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Highly aware of safety requirements within high-risk environments
  • Reliable with an exceptional work ethic
  • Ability to work a rotating shift (4 shifts on, 4 days off)
  • Physically able to undertake tasks requiring manual handling
  • Ability to complete tasks involving close contact with high-temperature molten materials
