Electoral Operations Manager

Persolkelly is a leading recruitment provider in Australia, specializing in the placement of professional and technical talent.
As an electoral operations manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of elections in Western Australia. This will involve working closely with the WA Electoral Commission to deliver a 10,000-strong workforce for the 2025 State election.
You will be responsible for managing a team of officers and staff across multiple polling stations, providing guidance and support as needed. Your duties will include:
- Issuing Officer: Issue ballot papers to electors on polling day, rotate as a ballot box guard and queue controller, and become a counting officer after 6 pm.
- Student Electoral Officer: Assist in polling place duties performed by Officers, limited hours.
- Voter Information Officer: Engage centrally through the Electoral Ambassador program, assist electors with language, literacy, or other requirements.
- General Assistant: Assist with the setup of polling places, count and pack up on polling day.
- Ballot Box Guard: Ensure correct ballot box papers are put into the ballot boxes, rotate as issuing officer and queue controller, and become a counting officer after 6 pm.
- Queue Controller: Manage the queue into the polling place and direct electors as needed, rotate as an issuing officer and ballot box guard, and become a counting officer after 6 pm.
The estimated salary for this role is $35-45 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. The position requires flexibility, particularly during weekends and peak election periods.
